The Centre has 24 meeting rooms with an overall capacity for 3,560 participants, including two auditoriums: Garcia Lorca (2,000 pax), and Manuel de Falla (550 pax). The rest are multifunctional and flexible breakout rooms which offer a wide range of possibilities and can adapt to meet the needs of any event. The congress Centre El Batel is an avant-garde building inspired in the maritime traditions of Cartagena, with an excellent location next to the port and the sea and in the City Centre (next to commercial and leisure offer). The translucent materials and the structure inside, characterized by the absence of pillars, creates large spaces diaphanous whose lighting recalls the weightlessness of the bottom of the sea. The main room, located under the sea level has capacity for 1.401 spectators among its three plants. In the Auditorium B, dominates the warmth Mediterranean colors, and has capacity to accommodate 444 people
Equipped with modern infrastructures: both rooms have booths of simultaneous translation, screens and equipment of projection, sound, microphones, bridge of lights, and all the human resources necessary to develop any MICE activity. The Batel has 7 meeting rooms and others complementary areas, accreditation and cloakroom, VIP rooms and storage areas. The main lobby, with 1,200 m2, is design as a great ride that joins and communicates all the rooms of the building. The movie theater Palacio de la Prensa, one of the main architectural icons in Gran Vía, was opened in 1929. The building has been recently declared of National Heritage Interest and it offers a unique location for the celebration of any event.
