The global response to Covid-19 Pandemic has mobilized an unprecedented level of resources for research, leading to the development of effective vaccines in record time. However, this success has limitations, as no therapies have proven effective against the new virus and vaccination campaigns are facing global inequalities. Today more than ever, it is time to adopt a holistic approach to tackle this pandemic, covering biological, clinical, environmental and social issues, and to define strategies to fight global health threats.
The CaixaResearch Conference 'Overcoming Covid-19 and preparing for the future" (Nov 16-17, 2021) will foster discussion on available tools, current vaccines technologies and logistics to fight the current pandemic and other emerging infections, with the aim of improving preparedness and evidence-based decision-making.
This CaixaResearch Conference is co-organized by "la Caixa" Foundation and Biocat, lead by a Scientific Committee by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) and IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Center, centers funded by “la Caixa” Foundation.
